Description:Drawn on card and signed in the image bottom left. An illustration for the Leader Magazine with the title in pencil on the back. Also with the printed label of R.P.Gossop Ltd Artists agents and "by Eric Fraser 12.11.49. Eric George Fraser born in London 1902 studied under Walter Sickert at the Westminster School of Art and then at Goldsmith's under E.J. Sullivan 1919-24. He taught at Camberwell School of Art 1928-40. He was a prolific illustrator of books and magazine's and exhibited RA;SSA;RCA; Bibl; Eric Fraser: an Illustrator of our time (British Gas:1991).Horne:Peppin:Waters etc. This superb drawing is, in my opinion, unusual in Fraser's work as it is more in the style of the British Neo-Romantic imagination of this period.
